Well, FSC is an acronym for The Forest Stewardship Council whose mission is to promote environmentally appropriate, socially beneficial, and economically viable management of the world’s forests.
Basically, by buying goods that display the FSC logo, you can be sure that the forest products you are buying (paper, wood, charcoal, nuts, even deer!) originate from certified, well managed forests.
Good question. Well, in order to display the FSC logo, each supplier in the “chain of custody” from the forest to you, must be assessed and registered as FSC certified. Just for fun (!), you could check the supplier of your loo rolls, by visiting www.fsc-info.org and entering the number that appears on the label, e.g. C012345
